Well we made it through 8 days of kindergarten with no problems but now I am having pre school flashbacks. How do you make your child understand that certain things are just not acceptable in school? Once again I am getting the same reports on Sean's behavior. The same things we tell him over and over he should not do.(Jumping and running around, interupting, putting his hands on other children) We have tried punishment, taking away privleges, reward system and yes...yelling. I give up!!! How in the world do I get this child to listen? Help!

I think with that age & with ADHD in the mix, I'd take one behavior at a time to fix so as not to overwhelm him with things to remember. Work on the behavior thats causing the most problems first & get the teacher to work with you. You'll both probably need to remind, remind, remind alot at first. And incorporate some sort of reward for when he remembers on his own. You'll have to watch closely & catch him doing well & make sure to praise him when hes getting it right. It m ight take awhile, but once his behavior has improved in the first area, then choose the next thing to work on.
Good luck!

I think that is great advice too Misty to tackle one issue at a time. We try that too when several situations pop up at one time.
