Our school had a talent show the other night. A boy my son's age with autism did rope tricks. He stood with his back to the audience the whole time and someone in the wings would remind him to face the audience, so he would peek back at us and then continue his tricks. It was so cute.
He walked out as though he was super confident and performed wonderfully in front of the crowd. I was so proud of him. His mom was bursting with pride. She should have been. I remember when he was so inside his own little world that he wouldn't have been able to walk out there, let alone perform a routine.
I still get all teary when I think of it.

Oh Charlie Girl, if someone else is getting teary-eyed so do I.
How great is that, that he was able to face a crowd. Rope tricks, how cute. That is an unusual thing to do.
Thanks so much for sharing that story.
