Well, Shannon had a GREAT first day of 6th grade! Her best friend is in her class, she loves her teacher & there was no homework! LOL! The only bad thing was that the ONE girl she cannot stand has to sit next to her. Well, at least she wont be getting in trouble for talking! When she came home today, all the papers she needed me to sign were neatly in the folder & her daily planner was actually written in! I commented on how nicely she was organized & she said "I know mom. I'm trying very hard to STAY organized this year"! What a GREAT start! I only hope it continues. So how was everyuone elses first day (those of you who started back)?

So glad to hear that the 1st day was great. I hope this school year will be a great one for her. My daughter usually brings home all of her papers and folders nice and tidy the 1st week or so and then the tornado of papers begins LOL. I try to help her keep them straight. I still have to meet with my daughter's teacher. I have to call about that today. I'm praying for a kind and patient teacher and that she has her best friend in her class or someone she is friendly with. Looking forward to hearing more of how things are going with your daughter. Have a great day! Had to put that in just one more time.

I am so glad that Shannon had a great 1st day. After the pics you posted I am happy it worked out. Tiff started school yesterday too. She came home smiles too. She thinks that she'll like her teacher. They didn't switch classes yesterday so she'll meet her math teacher today. Back to school night is tonight to find out more about what they will learn this year. I still have writers cramp from filling out all the paperwork that came home last night. Marja - fingers crossed that things continue to be well for you too.

Is he still without meds? If so, its wonderful how well its going for him. I know you were very worried about how that would work out. Either way, its GREAT that all our kids have started out on the right foot this year! Lets hope it continues.

:DWay to go Shannon! My kids' first day is next Wednesday. I just found that the first day of kindergarten here is an open house. That means parents stay-which I think will be very helpful.

Oh..Kindergarten! I miss those days! The kids are SO CUTE & they WANT their moms to stay! I must say, my kid is still cute, but OH NO if mom shows up in school!

lol Misty. I'm glad your daughter is doing well at school so far. Our kids need as much encouragement and praise as we can offer. "Good on ya, mate!" LOL

Misty and Tiffs Mom--so happy your girls had a great start to the school year! It makes such a difference when their all smiles and happy with their teachers doesn't it? Yeah for Tiff and Shannon Josh started back this week too, and I feel like Marja, if I talk about how great he did I might jinx the whole thing! Ha Ha! I was so shocked how well he did this week. He loves all his teachers and he actually came home with a smile everyday. What a change from last year! I feel like I have a different kid! Now if I could just learn to relax while he's at school and stop waiting for the phone to ring with the school number on my ID I might have a good day too! Let's hope they all continue to be happy and feel good about themselves!

Nette is sad no friends in her classroom nor on the bus and she sits alone and my heart is aching. She is so sweet and outgoing to be ignored. She did tell me a mean kid from her bus was in her classroom so I instructed her to stay away from him and if he does anything to her for her to tell me and her teacher. Hopefully he is just un-friendly.

That was good advice, Jill.
If your daughter is friendly & outgoing, she'll make some friends fast I bet! It is heartbreaking to see them sitting alone though. We wish we could jump in & fix everything for them. I know just what you mean!
