The daily notes began for the study she is in and yesterday it was terrible mostly all No's (they are yes's or No's) so she did not earn much. Today was like night and day big improvement mostly Yes's today ;D. Tonight we met the teachers all three and they seem to be very nice and caring and glad to meet us, we talked after the open house for a long time. Apparently the munckin is showing her oppositional Defiancy at school flat out refusing the follow directions and refused to sit and the teacher was firm but she sat down finally and shut down refused to work. The teachers admitted to being concerned in the beginning but she is showing improvement. Other concerns is getting her to do writing she hates it and is stubborn and the big concern she announces what she does in the bathroom and has left the door open and will forget to pull up her drawers . She has done this at home and I was praying no where else but she did it. So at bedtime we had a long talk about listening to do well on her daily note and what she can earn and about the toileting issue. Oey Vey!

Hi Jill,
Looks like you have a few issues to deal with, but at least you got an improvement. I can understand your frustration about the toilet thing, but with your help and the teacher's I'm sure she'll remember the correct things to do next time. Sometimes peer pressure can work in a positive way too. My daughter used to hate to get in the shower and to brush her teeth . Now I don't have much of an argument anymore to get her teeth brushed and she always makes sure to bathe and especially to have nice clean and neat hair. Girls can be brutal and the last thing Becca wants to do is be picked on for greasy hair and scummy teeth. She was pretty stubborn for a long time and I wanted to just rip my hair out, let me tell ya, but she finally did change. I know it can be frustrating, but hang in there Jill. It does get better. Sometimes when you want to just wring their neck ya gotta hug em instead. Hope tomorrow is a good day for you. Your Friend, Dee(aka Losty)

That is great that the second day had more yes's. Hope that continues for you.
She'll remember the bathroom thing. Tiff leaves the door open all the time at home. I just say door from the other room and it closes.
Please keep us updated on her progress.
I had a meeting with the math teacher and instructional teacher. Tiff came home yesterday with this large notebook with every subject in it. It is wonderful ;D every folder has been hole punched and put in there, along with her daily planner. her composition books which you can't put holes in are in the front and back pocket. The instructional teacher took her in the computer lab and let Tiff design a special cover for the front of it. And she thinks it is "way cool".

Jill, I'm so happy your daughter is doing so well! Its nice that the teachers are willing to work well with you, you're very lucky.
As for the bathroom problems, all you can do is remind, remind, remind...eventually it'll sink in. Not only do ADDers have trouble remembering those sorts of things, but they don't seem to get as modest as early as other kids, I guess that goes with the natural immaturity of ADDers. My daughter really didn't become modest until around age 10.
