I will be attending the International Dyslexia Association's national conference in Indianapolis from November 8-12. I am going to be joined by four women I "know" from another message board, and I can't wait to meet them! I will be attending sessions on writing (because this is my son's greatest area of weakness), spelling, dyslexia/ADHD comorbidity, multisensory math, and assistive technology for the dyslexic. I was wondering if there was anything anyone here might want to know or any specific questions one might want to have answered from the sessions I am attending? If you are interested in any of the sessions, I will be glad to take notes and post a summary of the information I receive. Just let me know.

How exciting that you get to go to a conference like that. I don't have any specific questions, I would be interested in seeing what you post when you return.

Wow on two counts: One - that you are attending the conference and two - that you will be meeting some cyber friends. I absolutely look forward to hearing what you learn. And me being the snoop I am will want to know if your cyber friends were like you expected.

My daughter isn't dyslexic, but part of her Dyscalculia LD is poor handwriting. I'm particularly intterested in hearing what you learn about improving their handwriting. She doesn't write cursive...can barely do even her own signature & shes in 6th grade! Although computers have taken over & theres not a huge call for writing these days, I still think its a basic ability that she should learn. Her printing is terrible too. Any thing you learn, I'll be thrilled to hear!

Just to make sure that anyone with a special interest in something is reminded to let Lillian know what they are.
