In the simplest of terms, dyscalculia causes people to have increased difficulty understanding and learning arithmetic. All those weird symbols, the numbers everywhere, and just what to do with them. I'm pretty sure I have a degree of dyscalculia, but I'm not going to use it as an excuse. Just an explanation about why I have such a hard time with math, and maybe someone will read this article and say, "Oh, that's what it's like for me, too."
